We’re so excited to welcome you to our farm gate this year!

If you’re keen on a real tree this year, please read this page, it’s where all the important & new information about our 2021 season will be.

Tickets will released here at 9pm* on 15th November 2021

Tickets are essential. By purchasing a ticket, you are agreeing to our 4 simple but important rules below.

We have limited trees available this year, and there is a potential that some tickets will be already sold out by 9pm because…

*Previous ticket holders (from 2019 & 2020) will have a one hour head start. An email with the ticket links will be sent out at 8pm. If this is you, please get in touch if you don’t seem to be receiving our emails and/or you have changed your email address.

PS. A heads up, in 2020 we sold out in 2 hours. Dilly-dalliers, take note!

The rules

We like to keep things casual and simple at the farm but there are four rules that help us host fair and relaxed open days for everyone.

  1. Purchasing a ticket is essential. One ticket equals one tree. This is the only way to buy a Christmas tree from our farm. This helps us avoid long line ups and car-park-overwhelm.
  2. It’s first in best dressed. Every year the trees are different heights and shapes. The earlier you can come to the farm, the better selection you’ll have. We’ll list the heights of trees we expect will be available each day below closer to Christmas. There are no ticket refunds.
  3. Tickets will be available for dates listed below. The day you choose to buy a ticket for, is the day you can take your tree home. There is no tagging or reserving a tree.
  4. If you become busy on the day you have a ticket for, you can come on another day *closer* to Christmas, but not a day earlier in the month. This rule helps us maintain Rule #2.

Ok. That’s enough rules. Thanks for playing along!

Remember, remember, the 15th of November!

We recommend to anyone keen on a Christmas tree, to put an annual reminder in your calendar for the 15th November which is the date we release tickets each year.

We do have a mailing list and social media that you can subscribe to and follow, but it’s best to not rely solely on those platforms. Because we’re so seasonal, the algorithms often stop our posts from being seen.

At the farm gate

We’re all about hosting a simple and fun farm experience. And we love to hear from families who have made choosing a Christmas tree from our farm each year a family tradition. Here’s a few things about our farm open days:

  • Your ticket will be for one tree, but you may bring as many friends and family as you like to help you choose. We’re also dog friendly.
  • Tickets are $30 (plus booking fee, around $2). The $30 will be taken off the price of your tree at check out.
  • You’ll grab a measuring stick from the welcome desk to check the height of the trees.
  • 2021 tree prices are TBA.
  • Once you’ve chosen your favourite tree, you’ll wave down a farm helper with a saw, and they’ll cut down your tree for you.
  • Bring along your Christmas hats and outfits and take an ‘elfie in the trees!
  • On the way out, we’ll measure your tree, and your ticket price will be taken off your tree price.
  • At the farm gate we also have:
    • Small and large Christmas tree stands
    • Richmond Christmas Tree Farm enamel mugs
    • Beautiful hessian tree collars to hide away your stand
    • Spare bolt sets for your tree stand
    • EFTPOS available, all prices are on our home page.
  • Be sure bring an old sheet or tarp to keep pine needles and sap out of your car, and/or tie-downs or rope to secure your tree to your roof-racks, and you’re away!
  • You can find a tree care video and instructions here when you return home.
  • On the second weekend in January we have our annual Tree-cycle Day, find out more about that here.
  • And, if you have more questions, you might find some answers here otherwise get in contact with us.

See you there!
